Celebrating In Your Own Way
In the subway last week, the day after canada won the world hockey championships, a little girl, 3 or 4, is walking hand in hand with her father. In her other hand, she in holding one of the free daylies featuring a shot of the Canadian captain hoisting the thophy and smiling.

While walking to the escaltor, she looks at the papers and asks:
"Daddy, is he happy?"
"Yes honey, there was a hockey game last night and he is happy his team won"
She then looks again at the image of the player and he throphy
"because he got a pesent?"

Cheap Movies Everyday
If you are tired of paying 13$ to go to the movies these day and you don't mind waiting a little while to see a movie, check out Dollar Cinema Montreal. Everything is a dollar, taxes included. Ticket: one dollar, popcorn: one dollar, drink: one dollar, candy: one dollar. Sure the movies are a bit older but they are not on DVD yet and this is a full size theater and screen.

VidLit
VidLit are short stories set to music and flash animations. Craziest is a very well made one by Liz Dubelman about being obcessed with Scrable. Worth a viewing, if only to learn what a "Triple-Triple" is.

Speaking of Good Writting
While it is sad that Belle is no longer writting her blog, I am looking forward to her new book. Although it curently only seems to be available for preorder from Amazon UK: Belle De Jour: Intimate Adventures of a London Call Girl I hope for her that it does really well, she deserves it.

How To Travel In Style
Having infinite funds, I would use the Charming hotels guide: small luxury hotels of the world as my road map and set out across the world. In reality I'll just dream.

These Days...
The best writting I am reading these days are coming from writers like this:
dooce: Four Twenty
One time while fucked up on two whole successful inhalations, I decided to clean out my refrigerator so that the LAPD wouldn't bust me for storing perishables beyond their sell-by date. While rummaging through pickle jars, tupperware bowls, and lunch meats that had grown ears and small toes, I found a bottle of A1 Steak Sauce with a SKU that read "BC1422."

My immediate thought was, "Holy shit, this thing went bad fourteen hundred and twenty-two years before Christ! How did I end up with it?" I was sure that I had stolen it from the Museum of Natural History when I took a trip to Washington DC in eighth grade during those innocent, sober years.

Take some time to check out the rest of her writting, you will not be disaponted.

Sin City
Chect this Sin City Trailer page. The trailer looks pretty good, love the comparison shots to the comic images. And the cast! Bruce Willis, Jessica Alba, Mickey Rourke, Maria Bello, Kate Bosworth, Josh Hartnett, Benicio del Toro, Brittany Murphy, Elijah Wood, Clive Owen, Rosario Dawson, Rick Gomez... I can'T even remember that many characters in the book. Guess I'm off to re-read that now...

Blair Witch Project - The Digicam Version
This post I found a digital camera in the woods from GTAForums.com is really freaky. I am still looking at it (57 pages fo posts!) but i will try to update soon

[Update]: Of course, Metafilter has the stright dope on it. Still extremely well made in my opinion.

Quote
"He who joyfully marches to music in rank and file has already earned my contempt. He has been given a large brain by mistake, since for him the spinal cord would fully suffice. This disgrace to civilization should be done away with at once. Heroism at command, senseless brutality, deplorable love-of-country stance, how violently I hate all this, how despicable and ignoble war is; I would rather be torn to shreds than be a part of so base an action! It is my conviction that killing under the cloak of war is nothing but an act of murder."
-- Albert Einstein (1879-1955)
